DirecTV quietly updates iPad app, HR34 DVR

DIRECTV updates iPad app, HR34 DVR with tktkt

DirecTV has quietly updated both its iPad app and HR34 DVR with a variety of new features for Satellite-loving customers. The application will now resume from where you left off, comes with a much improved search function and best of all, a direct line into the company's support forums. Meanwhile, the HR34 swallowed a software package that included Pandora, a YouTube landing page and more readable closed captions amongst a raft of other nips and tucks. The former will be available through the app store, while the latter should have arrived on your box overnight, well before you start on that CSI marathon.

  1. DirecTV just likes to do thing in one fatal blow, that’s why they release so many updates at once. Maybe they felt it was needed, just like the resume button on their iPad app which is pure genius. I hope it doesn’t mean you can pause the live streaming that you can only do in the house and come back to it when you bring your iPad back home, but it might. I’ve always preferred streaming outside of the house, inside the house I have televisions that do that. Working at Dish I found out about the Sling Adapter a couple years ago and have been using one since. Nothing makes waiting for the bus seem not so bad as being able to watch any of my live channels or recorded shows right on my iPad over WIFI, 3G or 4G.
